To keep Costs domestic low has never been so important, so why not save money by making calls through the internet? There are many services that allow you to do this for little or no cost.
Voice over Internet Protocol (or VoIP) is the way by which people do to connect over the internet to mobile numbers or fixed. The most important requirement to be able to make these connections is to have a good internet connection, of at least 1 MB (recommended 5 MB). You can know your internet speed so very easy, connecting to your internet service provider.
You will also need a way to make and receive calls. On a computer, this means having headphones/speakers and a microphone, or a headset, dedicated. We recommend the headset instead of the tab due to the effects of the echo that the sound may cause to the microphone. Some services (including Skype) can also make use of a webcam if you have one, for video calls.
In many cases, for example, VoIP services will include a dial-in number that people can use to call it. To the caller, which looks and works like any other landline number. Other services offer a selection of special numbers, but you can expect to pay a little more for it. It is also possible to emulate the services associated with the traditional services of fixed telephone, such as voice mail or caller id.
Many different companies offer Internet calls and they all have plans at different prices. Join two people who use the same services is always better. That does not prevent you from making accounts on multiple different services, taking advantage of the best qualities of each of them.
Skype is the most popular service, and perhaps the most comprehensive, and can be used in different devices. Links Skype-to-Skype are made of and to names/nicknames instead of phone numbers, although the services number are available for a price. An account Skype-basic is free and offers free between Skype users: this includes both voice chat, instant messaging and video calls. You will need a credit card to put credits into your Skype account and can connect to landlines or cell phones. It is important to remember that to receive calls, you will have to pay to Skype to have a fixed number and then go online to be able to receive connections. For all this, just download the program on the official website and start making your connections.
Unfortunately, the biggest competitor of Skype, Google Voice, is still very limited in Brazil. With prices much cheaper and many options of free calls to landlines, Google Voice arrives as a strong competitor in VoIP telephony. Using Hangouts on the Social Network Google+, you can do conference video and voice with up to 10 people. The calls made from and to the USA and Canada are free, and for the other locations, the call rates for international are much lower than the competition. While the service connections is not available in Brazil, you can use Hangout or Google Talk to talk with their friends who also have an account on Google Plus or GTalk. To access the Google+ and Hangout, just have a Gmail account, and make your registration in Google+.
Although our examples are limited, we show that the use of the Internet to make phone calls can bring in huge cost savings per minute of call. There are many programs good on the internet and come up to offer unlimited connections and free to some numbers that you register. It is fair to say that there is no guarantee that a VoIP service will be cheaper in all situations: you must check the details carefully. But for international calls it is, without a doubt, the best option to save costs precious.
